Portfolio Review Final #2

This is the second part of my final, modeling & texturing the concept of an Old-Time Inn. This model was challenging. but it also taught me a lot about the process. The first sheet is the standard Presentation sheet, but the second one is the sheet with Lighting from Maya. I felt I couldn't get the right color schemes with the textures I found and painting in photoshop, but with the added lighting I think it looks a lot closer to the concept, which is what I wanted.

Game Design 3 Final...

These are my Model & Presentation Sheets for my Game Design 3 Final, a Pipe Wall with Wires. The top shows my Low-Poly Model with the Poly count, the 2nd shows the model with lighting, the third shows the textured model and the final one shows the unwrapped UVs. Still a lot of work to be done.

Game Design Homework and Finished Final Project #1

The first two images are from a UDK Project that will be completed later. The final two are the modeling and presentation sheets for my completed project. Took all of the two weeks and some improvements can be made, but I'm pleased with how it came out and I believe I'm becoming better & modeling & texturing props now.

Portfolia Review Reworks Midterm...

These are the finalized pieces from my reworked models. I am significantly happy with all three of them, as this process has helped me understand texturing a whole lot better. I still have a way to go, but I feel I made some significant leaps.

Game Design 3 Midterm...

This is the finished model sheet for my texture window work. Still needs a lot of work, but I'm pleased with how it pops out.

Re-Remodel 3, Wooden Gate

This is my thrid remodel of a wooden gate I did for Game Design III. I created a Low & High Poly version while also baking out the Normal Map. The Texture sheet is still being created for this model, and I expect to have it finished for next week.

Re-Remodeled Food Stand

Another effort on the Food Stand, and a much better one. Still having troubles with textures but my modeling has improved. Still changes to be made with the food sacks and some added materials.

Wooden Gate Model

This is a model that I am certainly proud of. Beginning it was somewhat of a chore but I really began getting into the design of it and getting down the intricacies. This is definitely a model I will come back and retun to make it even more high-res.

2nd Rework Model Sheet

This is my second reworked model of a Fruit Stand I created earlier in the year. I like how the model came out but the texturing is where I struggled the most. Many mistakes were made, and it is still a problem I need to work out.

High Poly Gun Model Sheet

This is the high-poly gun I completed for my assignment. The model on the left exhibits hard edges while the ones in the middle and on the right showcase soft edges.

Bomb Model

This is my finished Grenade Model. It was a simple design as most of my work went into painting the textures to match the concept art. Still enjoyable and educating.

Low Poly XCOM Handgun Model

This is my model sheet for a low-polygon handgun concept from XCOM: Enemy Unknown. The project was enjoyable as the design was different from weapons I've modeled in the past.

Revised Cart...

This is the revised cart I finished for my first project. I fixed the wheels and the melding in the lower-middle part of the front, giving it a more seamless look.

Color Scheme Assignment...

This is my finished work on Color Scheme. These four pieces of concept art all demonstrate different schemes on the color wheel such as Complementary, Split Complementary & Triadic.

Texture & Lighting Final, Better Lighting...

Here is a clearer view...

Texture and Lighting Final...

This is the completed concept for my final in Texture & Lighting. The model itself was rewarding to create, but my problem was unwrapping the UVs on it and applying the texture correctly. As you can see I never got them to align, leading to my final work as shown above.

Level Design Final...

These are photos of my Final Level created in Level Design. The first 4 images are of my greybox created in Maya. They are multiple shots of the rooms you will play through during the course of this level. The fifth and final photo is of the completed level as mapped out in UDK and given a personal texture. This assignment was time consuming at first, and frustrating due to UDK continuous crashes, but became satisfying near the end as I finished off the level and was able to put some finishing touches on it.

My First Works with ZBrush...

These are my first two models done with ZBrush. The Rock at the bottom was created solely using ZBrush, while the Column was created in Maya and imported into ZBrush so some fine-tuning could be given to it.

Greybox Rooms 4-6 in UDK...

This is my recently completed Greybox for rooms 4-6 in my level using the Unreal Development Kit. The 4th room is a trap room that can be used to stop enemies, but also can stop you if you don't have the proper spell to cross the chasm. The 5th room is a secret room where you can obtain more powerful spells, and the 6th room is also a trap room, where you can burn the enemies that flood into it.

This is the Block-Out Greybox model of my Final for Level Design. It is the beginning 3 rooms for my Tower Defense Game. You start the game in the room to the lower-left and expand your area/protection from there.

Finalized Midterm...

This is the final product of my Midterm Project. The top shows the Crazy Bump preview of the Texture, the center shows the texture applied to its object, and the bottom three images in each strip shows the Diffused, Normal and Specular Maps respectively. This project tested my patience as I struggled to get the textures just right and have them apply to the object without looking like they were pasted on, but I am happy with the outcome.

Midterm Barrel Texture...

This is my textured barrel for my Modeling II Midterm. Kind of simple once I got down Cylindrical Mapping and used the UVs to shape the lid to it's proper size. I'm happy with how it came out.

Textured Knife...

This is the Textured Knife I recently finished in Low-Poly. The hilt of the knife was the toughest portion as it was a pain for me to match the length of it to the actual texture. It was a rewarding project, however.

Model Food Stand

This was another Model I enjoyed working on. I did have some trouble making some of the smaller items identical to how they are in the picture (bottom right), but the general architecture of the stand I understood and got down quickly.

Model Castle and Model Sheet...

The top are Castles, with the first two being in mid-construction and the one on the right a completed version. Below that is a Model Sheet of the Models I have completed. The toughest one would have to be the Axe while the most enjoyable ones were the Cart and Desert Home.

Modeling I Updates...

These are two of the models I've done; a wooden cart and a desert home. The Low Poly Model is on the left and the high poly on the right. These are two models I enjoyed created because of the geometry. The Extrude tool was of great use with both as I was able to work the majority of the model out of one cube.

Modeling: Door & Lamp

This is the Door & Lamp I worked on for a props project. I was unable to get the correct scaling size for the door, making it wider than it appeared.

3D Model Toy Complete

This is my completed toy robot model for 3D Animation. Animation will begin on it shortly...
